Hi, I’m Mac.
I’m a writer, artist, and research fanatic currently living in Utah, with one black cat and a modest collection of bones. I’m here to bring you original stories, occasional art, advice and tips on all aspects of creative living, and the results of my random dives head-first down the research rabbit hole. I semi-specialize in writing animals, particularly horses (I’m working on a large series of posts on this topic, which you can find in the Horse Writing section), and my favorite genres are fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and pretty much all adjacent topics.
My utterly incomplete education background is in equine science and conservation biology, and just a few of the things I’ve done in my life include training wild horses, making ceramics, picking blueberries, working with service dogs, designing websites, handling raptors, and harvesting veggies. I know a lot of random facts, few of them useful, and I’d be happy to tell you all about them.
